Today our college conducted a SUPW program for the first years included in the curriculum. We were asked to create things useful for society and environment. The time allotted to complete the work was three hours. I created fabriv painting design on a small piece of white cloth . The other things made by the students include warley art, fabric painting, doll making, bird nest , bangle holder , bottle art , wall hangings, paper bags etc. Our works were exhibited department wise and the teachers evaluated our creations.

Today we had our first capacity Development Program as part of our Edu: 01 (philosophy)paper. The program was conducted by Dr. Anu Krishnan. R , Principal P.T.M.I.T.E, Maruthoorkonam,Balaramapuram. The program started at 10: 50 am . The program was carried out through various activities which enable us to identify ourselves and our capabilities. The first activity was to write our strengths and weaknesses in 60 seconds. To conduct the second activity we were asked to volunteer either to sing or to narrate a story. Salma sang a song and Greeshma narrated a beautiful story about honesty. The third activity was an imitation game . 10 students were asked to volunteer and they were asked to face backwards so that none could see what the person behind them does. Today we performed a skit as part of our Performing Arts Assessment. We were a group of 9 students - 4 from English and 5 from Commerce department. Our skit was named " Aham" which means 'self'. The theme of our skit was partiality, a problem faced by majority of students. The setting was that of a school . Characters include: Anagha Krishnan - Principal Anusree BK - teacher Karthika N -teacher Subhana - school manager Reshma - student Sharafa - student Kavya - student Nandhu - student (principal's son) Shilpa - Reshma' s mother The skit revolves around a school setup wherein a teacher is partial among her students . The teacher favours the rich kids and the principal's son and treats the poor kids badly . The teacher failed the studious kids and gives full marks to the principal's son. This creates an issue which leads to the school manager reprimanding the teacher and making her realise her mistake . The skit ends with a message for all teachers and ...

Today we had a Fire and Safety workshop organised by the NSS unit of our college. Four personnels from the fire and safety department were present. The ASTO Mr.Anil Kumar took classes on different types of fire outbreaks and different types of fire extinguishers. They brought fire extinguishers with them and showed us how each one of them operates. He educated us on the approach we must adopt during fire outbreaks. We learnt that there are different types of fire extinguishers each for liquid, electrical and other materials. They gave us demonstration of foam extinguishers used in petrol pumps using thinner . We were also given class on the proper use of LPG cylinder, the structure of a cylinder, how to differentiate the cylinders of different companies, the proper response to a gas leakage and it's safe installation.
