workshop life skill development

Today Kavyattu College of education organised a workshop on life skill development in collaboration with IQAC. The resource person invited by our college was Dr Anukrishnan R , principal of PTM College of education, Maruthoorkonam . The program was scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the program was inaugurated by Dr.Liby Cheriyan of our college.The workshop was conducted in a fun and entertaining manner involving the students to display the creativity and talent. The host provided us with it's different situations for which we have to find solutions through enacting. We were divided into 10 groups each containing 5 students each. One group was termed as the observation group and the other was termed as the valuation group. The rest of the groups where participants who were given difference situations for which they have to present situation and find the solution to the situation through acting. Each group were given 5 minutes for preparation and where asked to perform one by one. After the performance the observation group was asked to give feedbacks for each performance and two access weather the life skill such as problem solving ,stress management ,critical thinking etc where involved. The evaluation group was tasked with the marking based on the presence of a life skill , the participation of all members and the performance. After the performance the host told us how we all have life skills of which we are not aware of but at some point we make use of. Rather than opting for a long speech the host decided to make us aware about life skills through the medium of enacting different situations that we encounter in our daily lives. The program was concluded by the host by talking about the importance of life skills as a teacher and how it will create a positive impact on the students sitting before us.Vote of thanks was delivered by college union chairman Abin .
